Above are highlights from various projects we’ve completed.
Mark Burkit has been building air cooled Porsche engines since 1977. We build the highest quality engines available for street, track and concours cars, using only the best quality factory Porsche parts and updated components to improve performance and ensure longevity. The foundation of any engine build is in the details and precise measurements that ensure the integrity, proper fitment and clearances of every part. From precision valve work, to balancing, porting and relieving, and compression ratio; all of our engines are fully documented and blue printed.
By design, Porsche air cooled engines are built for performance and longevity. We are always striving to preserve the originality while improving the precision and quality of what was originally built. We ultrasonically clean all engine components and have developed ways of cleaning engine cases and other components that preserves the marbling in the finish of the aluminum and magnesium from when the parts were originally casted. Other forms of cleaning alter the surface of the metal and remove this original finish. To further preserve an engine, we offer powder coating and plating, as well as ceramic coating of the exhaust system.
We perform precise setups and tuning for MFI, Carburation, Bosch injection and KMS engine management systems. We offer engine dyno testing, development and tuning for our engine builds. We have been working with this engine dyno since 1983. Since then, the dynamometer has been upgraded several times, but the original engine stand still remains. We also offer development with our flow bench and Cam Pro analyzer to increase the efficiency and performance of engine builds.
We pay attention to the entirety of a build to provide you with reliable performance and longevity.
